According to reports, the ±1100 kV Changji-Guquan UHV DC engineering line has a total length of about 3,324 km. It is the UHV transmission project with the highest voltage level, the largest transmission capacity, the longest transmission distance and the most advanced technology level in the world. The voltage level has risen from ±800 kV to ±1100 kV, the transmission capacity has increased from 6.4 million kilowatts to 12 million kilowatts, the economic transmission distance has increased to 3,000 to 5,000 kilometers, and the annual transmission capacity is 66 billion kWh to East China. Hubei Electric Power Research Institute also undertook special test work on the electrical equipment of two double-ended converter stations.

Chen Wei introduced that in the GIS field test of ±1100 kV Guquan converter station, the traditional test method can not meet the actual work needs. In order to improve the test efficiency, Hubei Electric Power Research Institute applied artificial intelligence technology and independently developed the first 1200 kV GIS self-contained insulation test platform. The platform integrates the key test equipments of high-voltage reactor, high-voltage voltage divider and gas-filled pressure equalizing ring. It adopts the working principle of missile launch vehicle mobile launching, and realizes efficient and rapid deployment on site through hydraulic chassis and hydraulic lifting and turning device. The device is fully assembled and motorized. Compared with the traditional test device, it saves 80% of the test preparation time and greatly reduces the site safety risk. It is reported that the test platform will declare more than ten national patents.

Wu Jing, the person in charge of the field test of Hubei Electric Power Research Institute, said that after the Changji-Guquan project was put into operation, the electric energy delivered every day was nearly 200 million kWh. If the converter station needs emergency vacancies, it must be re-insulated after replacing the equipment. It takes more than 72 hours for the traditional test equipment to enter the site, carry out the test, and dismantle the exit. Now with this test platform, all test tasks can be completed in 8 hours.
