Huang Renxun: Tegra 3 is faster and more power efficient

According to NVIDIA, the next-generation mobile processor Kal-El Tegra 3 will not only greatly exceed the existing Tegra 2 in performance, but also consume much less power, which naturally will further enhance NVIDIA’s position in the mobile field.

NVIDIA CEO Huang Renxun recently announced: "Kal-El will become the world's first (ARM architecture for mobile devices) quad-core processor. Its performance is so much higher than Tegra 2, while the power consumption is so low. Few people realize that Kal-El consumes less power than Tegra 2 in any use case! This is definitely a great breakthrough. It comes from what we call variable symmetric multiprocessing ( The technology of variable SMP) allows us to achieve higher performance when needed while having lower power consumption in almost any situation."

To date, Tegra 2 has won 53 product designs, will continue to increase as more smartphones are announced during the quarter, and NVIDIA expects “an exceptionally rich design based on Kal-El products.”

Huang Renxun said: "(Tegra business) is very difficult to carry out, but (but) Tegra 2 has won a lot of new product design, Kal-El is the same. ... To me, (Tegra) business is going to be much better than expected The same is true for product design."

However, as for the specific specifications of Kal-El Tegra 3, NVIDIA still did not utter the slightest further news.
