Strategy Analytics is optimistic about the growth of third-quarter Windows tablet shipments. Microsoft has lowered the price of the Windows RT tablet by $150. The price cuts of other manufacturers are even greater. The price of this tablet is still not cheap, but it should be more competitive. The shortage of applications continues to be a problem. Developers do not seem to have the enthusiasm for developing applications for this platform.

At the same time, BlackBerry shipped only 100,000 BlackBerry Playbook tablets in the second quarter. BlackBerry does not indicate plans to release future tablet products.
