Deep learning is ubiquitous in life due to its high computing power and productivity. Today, deep learning has entered the fields of self-driving cars, convenience stores and hospitals. However, to become a top talent, the competition is still very fierce. Adapting to new industries and solving the challenges is still a problem. To complement Udacity's previous AI course, the online education startup partnered with YouTube star Siraj Raval to provide a new deep learning nano-level course to Mat Leonard of Udacity, a co-teacher.
This basic course will be a major focus of Udacity in the coming year. They provide a great opportunity for students who are not fully prepared. The 17-week course consists of a lot of content and takes only 3-4 hours a week. The goal is to equip students with enough knowledge and learn how to use deep learning to solve any task. Raval interprets the course as a way of thinking.
Raval is very experienced in this area by imparting a great amount of information in a short period of time. The video course he had previously uploaded on YouTube was up to two months long, and he was often impressed by what his students could do after the study.
"The GitHubs to the end of the student will have five projects, including the last one to generate the most advanced confrontation network," Raval said. "This is not trivial. It will be impressive for future interviewers."
Raval says his ideal students are those with Python programming experience and basic algebra knowledge. The purpose of the course is not to teach people who have never been exposed to programming, but to help experienced programmers incorporate deep learning into their skills.
In order to attract potential participants, Udacity promises that graduates who complete the in-depth course will be sent to the company's autonomous car project or artificial intelligence project, with a $100 certificate. These projects are highly competitive industries, with only 16% of them being admitted to the autonomous driving program, and only 4.5% of students can be admitted to the artificial intelligence program.
Udacity's chief marketing officer, Shernaz Daver, said: "This is the new focus of Udacity, so you can expect us to launch more nano-level foundation courses this year.
Starting today, students can participate in the new deep learning nano-level program with a registration fee of $399. Registration must be completed by January 20th, and the teaching will begin on the same day. Courses are completed within six months to qualify for course benefits.
