Japanese TV maker Toshiba Corp. (6502-JP; Toshiba) announced on Thursday that it will end its LCD TV (LCD TV) assembly plant in Plymouth, UK, later this year, leaving its European production line in Poland. The report also pointed out that Hitachi has also closed its flat-panel TV production line in the Czech Republic, leaving its global TV production line with only three factories in Japan, China and Mexico, and considering outsourcing production in Europe. As for Sony, it will suspend production at the LCD TV factory in Aichi, Japan, next month, and will continue to consolidate production lines.
