At 23:18 on January 5, 2017, Beijing time, China used the Long March 3B carrier rocket at the Xichang Satellite Launch Center to successfully launch the communication technology test satellite No. 2.
Communication Technology Test Satellite No. 2 is China's new generation of large-capacity communication broadcast test satellites, mainly used for satellite communications, broadcast television, data transmission and other services, and carries out multi-band, broadband high-rate data transmission test verification.
The communication technology test satellite No. 2 and the Changzheng No. 3 B carrier rocket were respectively developed by Shanghai Aerospace Technology Research Institute and China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology affiliated to China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. The launch was the 245th flight of the Long March series of launch vehicles.
