Founded in 1962, SeCom is currently Japan's largest security company. SeCom has been providing safe, convenient and comfortable services to families, businesses and even the whole society. With the development of robotics technology, SeCom has joined the tide of technological innovation with its forward-looking global vision and has developed several acclaimed robots. Today, Xiao Bian will take you through two of them.
In recent years, SeCom has focused its attention on issues such as the shortage of nursing staff in the aging society, and has actively conducted research on mechanical technology in the fields of medical care and nursing care. In 2015, SeCom exhibited their newly developed feeding robot “MY SPOON†at the “2015 Autonomous Regional General Exhibition†to let visitors attending the exhibition experience the service of nursing robots. The robot-assisted robot “My spoon†is the first achievement of SeCom's research in related fields and is the first feeding robot in Japan. It was officially launched in May 2002 and was later introduced to many countries in the world. Widely acclaimed.
SeCom said that their original intention was to reduce the physical and mental burden of cervical spine injuries, muscle wasting, family members of rheumatoid arthritis patients, and nursing staff. The specific operation process is simple and easy to learn: the user only needs to use the chin to operate the lever, and the robotic arm carrying the spoon and fork will send the food to your mouth. Its operation is similar to grasping a doll machine, so after about 30 minutes of operation training, users can smoothly send tofu and other fragile foods, or rice and other small volume foods. The visitors who participated in the experience all said that although they are using it for the first time, they can send the desired food to the entrance.
Patrol security droneAs early as 2012, SeCom started drone-related research. In December last year, it announced the development of a patrol security drone designed to defend factories and commercial buildings, allowing regular patrols of factories or shopping malls and other places during unattended nights.
During the patrol of the drone in accordance with the set line schedule, the window image can be taken in real time. By comparing with the normal screen, the damage of the glass or the appearance of an unknown object is detected automatically, and the result is reported to the security center, which is judged by the security personnel. In addition, UAVs can also monitor artificial patrols in high places or on rooftops.
Unfortunately, because it only has a speed of 10 kilometers per hour, drones can't catch up with drowned robbers. However, the LED lights it carries can capture images of "suspected" facial and clothing lights, and may also act as a deterrent.
Along with patrolling services, there is also a highly reliable recharging system. Because the positioning error of an ordinary GPS on a drone can reach several meters, it is difficult for the drone to accurately return to the charging port. In contrast, SeCom reduced the error to a few centimeters to ensure that the drone can be recharged. Whether it is taking off, patrolling or homing, recharging is automated.
Whether it is for the benefit of paraplegic patients or the security of public property, SeCom's R&D focus always reflects their values of “looking for SeCom when they feel uneasy, finding SeCom when they are in trouble,†and it is indeed the conscience of the industry. I believe that SeCom can go further in the path of innovation and technology.
