How to achieve long-term acquisition of logic analyzer and store it in real time?

The deep storage logic analyzer can collect more waveforms, making protocol analysis easier. If some people still think it is not enough, try the LA2000A recording mode.

How to achieve long-term acquisition of logic analyzer and store it in real time?

For low-frequency protocol signals such as IIC, CAN, etc., when we want to record waveforms for a long time, using traditional logic analyzers will feel powerless. Assuming the frequency of the signal is 10 kHz, then using a logic analyzer with a storage depth of 64 Mpts, it is only possible to acquire a waveform of up to about 1 hour, and in the process, we can only wait for the end of sampling. In order to solve this problem, the logic analyzer's recording mode was born.

In the recording mode, the data can be collected all the time and stored directly to the computer hard disk without being limited by the storage depth of the logic analyzer. In the process of collecting, the newly acquired data waveform can be observed in the software.

1, the principle of the recording mode

The image of Figure 1 illustrates the difference between the traditional mode and the recording mode; when the signal flow is large, the direct storage to the fine-mouth bottle must overflow, and can only be stored in the wide-mouth bottle first, then stop after the full storage, and then slowly pass Back to the fine bottle; when the signal flow is not large, the wide-mouth bottle acts as a transfer tube, and the signal flow is directly introduced into the fine-mouth bottle, which can be stored for a long time without interruption.
