Diodes Incorporated (Diodes Incorporated) Release 5V single-channel load switches AP22800 having programmable soft start function and discharge rate. This ultra-low on-resistance N-channel switch reduces voltage drop and power consumption, as well as processing 6.0A of continuous current, providing more accurate system power adjustment for ultra-small notebooks and tablets.
The new load switch is easy to program, using external capacitors and external resistors to set the start function and discharge rate. The device also provides an open-drain power good output flag to indicate that the output voltage has reached the target value.
The AP22800 offers a voltage range from 1.5V to 5V and is flexible enough to support 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V and 5V system rails. With a quiescent current as low as 21μA, the device is ideal for battery-powered distributed power systems that focus on power-saving protection.
In order to increase the power density, this load switch is packaged in an ultra-thin DFN2116-8 package with high efficiency and heat dissipation. The footprint is only 3.36mm2.
