Abstract: The author of this article has collected a large number of technical information on straight tube fluorescent lamps at home and abroad through search and induction. From the perspective of guiding application, a brief analysis and analysis of the classification method and technical characteristics of the straight tube type fluorescent lamp are carried out.
Straight tube fluorescent lamps are used in a wide variety of applications. The technical characteristics of the parameters are also more professional, and the classification methods are different. Due to space limitations, this article only from the perspective of guiding applications. Through the three visual characteristics, such as the size of the pipe, the color of the light, and the power, the inductive classification and brief analysis are carried out. First, according to the size of the pipe diameter:
(1) Straight tube type fluorescent tubes are divided into: T 12 , T 10 , T 8 , T 6 , T 5 , T 4 , T 3 , etc. according to the diameter of the tube . The “T + number” combination in the specification indicates the millimeter value of the pipe diameter. Its meaning: one T = 1/8 inches, one inch is 25.4mm; the number represents the number of T. For example, T 12 = 25.4mm*1 / 8*12 = 38mm.
(2) The relationship between the diameter of the fluorescent tube and its electrical parameters:
1. Fluorescent tube, the thinner the tube diameter, the higher the light efficiency and the better the power saving effect.
2, fluorescent tube, the thinner the diameter of the tube, the higher the ignition voltage, the higher the technical requirements of the ballast.
Fluorescent lamps with a diameter greater than T 8 (including T 8 ) have a lower ignition voltage. Compared with 220 V, 50 Hz power frequency AC, it meets the ignition voltage of less than 1 / 2 power supply voltage. An inductive ballast can be used for the ignition operation.
For fluorescent tubes with a diameter less than T 8 , the ignition voltage is higher. Compared with 220 V, 50 Hz power frequency AC, it does not meet the ignition voltage of less than 1 / 2 power supply voltage. Inductive ballasts cannot be used for ignition operation. Fluorescent tubes with a diameter less than T 8 must match the electronic ballast. The electronic ballast generates an ignition high voltage and ignites the fluorescent tube. Thereafter, the electronic ballast is driven to drive the fluorescent tube to ignite.

Second, according to the color of light:
(1) Straight-tube type fluorescent tubes are divided into three colors : a fluorescent lamp with three primary colors, a fluorescent tube with a cool white daylight, and a fluorescent tube with a warm white daylight color.
(2) The relationship between the color of fluorescent tubes and their technical quality:
The phosphors coated with fluorescent tubes differ from the type of gas they are filled in, and the fluorescent tubes exhibit different light colors. The technical quality is also very different.
1. Fluorescent tube is coated with halogen phosphor and filled with argon and helium-argon mixed gas. The color of the fluorescent tube is: cool white daylight fluorescent tube, warm white daylight fluorescent tube.
u These two color fluorescent tubes have low color rendering performance and a color rendering index R value of less than 4O. Far less than the sun, the standard value of the color rendering index R=1OO. View the color of the surface of a colored object and produce a color shift. The color is greenish and grayish, and the color is dim and not bright.
u These two color fluorescent tubes have lower luminous efficiency. The luminous efficacy is generally 3 electric lumens per minute (Lm) to 4O (Lm).
u These two kinds of light-colored fluorescent tubes contain more invisible light in the spectrum, and the effective pupil dilation (effective visual light effect) is also low. The effective light efficiency is low and the effective illumination is low.
u These two kinds of light-colored fluorescent tubes, the fluorescent tube igniting igniting life is also relatively short, generally within 5OOO to 6,000 hours.
The above two kinds of fluorescent tubes of light color are not high-efficiency energy-saving electric light sources and do not meet the requirements of green lighting technology.
2, the fluorescent tube is coated with three primary color rare earth phosphors, filled with high-efficiency luminescent gas. The fluorescent tube color is a high color rendering solar color synthesized by three primary colors.

The actual luminous efficacy of the fluorescent tube is directly related to the technical characteristics of the ballast used and the matching degree of the ballast and the fluorescent tube.
Therefore, in the actual lighting design, electronic ballasts with advanced technical performance should be selected. The fluorescent tube and ballast are optimally matched and designed.
